What Is A Civil Celebrant?

– Imagine a line – At one end, religious leaders such as a Priest, Minister, Rabbi, or Imam. At the other end, non-religious options including the Registrar or a humanist Celebrant. Between these, you will find me, the Independent Civil Celebrant.

I am fully trained, attaining the highest level accredited national qualifications – NOCN Level 3 Diploma in Naming and Couples Celebrancy (RQF) & NOCN Level 3 Diploma in Funeral Celebrancy (RQF) – (with Civil Ceremonies Ltd). I am a member of the Association of Independent Celebrants (AOIC), providing me with public liability insurance and professional indemnity and a highly recognised professional support network.

I provide a premium, fully customisable ceremony for any significant life event, including Civil Wedding or Civil Partnership celebrations, Naming ceremonies, Funerals and Memorials. But a ceremony for any event is possible; Adoption celebration ceremonies, Renewal of Vows, significant Anniversaries, Coming of Age, Retirement, Transgender Transition celebrations, etc, etc.. It’s your choice!

* You have full control over the content and structure of your ceremony. The ceremonies I offer are non-statutory. NB for Civil Wedding and Civil Partnership Celebration Ceremonies – Currently in England (2022), you must have the legal union completed with the register office beforehand. (This can be acheived with an inexpensive, simple ‘formation’ or 2 plus 2 registration – you and your two witnesses.) Once that’s done, I can help you celebrate with a thoroughly personalised ceremony.
