A Naming Ceremony – to welcome a new baby, an adopted child or stepchildren (with sussex naming celebrant Mark Inscoe)
The arrival of a baby is one of the most significant moments in life. Adoption is a most wonderful way to bring a child into the protection of a family unit. These special arrivals can now be marked and celebrated with a Naming Ceremony, whether that is to announce a babies name or the addition of a previously named child into a family. You may wish to elect family members or close friends to be supporting adults, a significant presence in the child’s life. You may like to include a moment in your ceremony for all present to declare a promise of love and protection. I will provide a personalised certificate which can be signed by you and your elected supporting adults during or after the ceremony. A special souvenir of your day.
A Naming Ceremony to celebrate Gender Re-assignment
Equality and the acceptance of gender reassignment sees more individuals able to continue their lives with their true gender identity. This can be celebrated with a naming ceremony as a way of moving forward.
Naming Ceremony Content
You may have clear ideas of music, poetry or readings to be incorporated in the ceremony. I can help with suggestions if needed. You might like to include symbolic items in your celebration such as candles, or even a time capsule, into which can be placed special items; the days newspaper, a script of the ceremony, messages from those present, or significant objects.
As your civil celebrant, we will work together to create your perfect ceremony, the most memorable part of this very special day.
YOUR DAY ~ YOUR WAY.
