I am a civil wedding celebrant based in Brighton, East Sussex. I offer marriage ceremonies throughout the South East and South of England. These are mostly non-religious ceremonies, although my flexibility as a civil wedding celebrant allows for some religious content as an option.

I also offer my celebrant services for Destination Luxury Wedding Ceremonies; Perhaps you are considering a Mediterranean wedding in a luxury historic hotel or one of the many beautiful fincas in Mallorca? June/July 2024, I have just completed two very contrasting Weddings in the stunning Port de Pollenca – one on board a vintage Ketch! Perhaps you considering something further afield – a beach wedding on a tropical Caribbean island?

Until recently, most couples in the UK expected to celebrate their union with a religious ceremony, following cultural and societal traditions. We are evolving to offer more choice -Your choice; equality of opportunity, where all couples have the same legal rights and choices must be celebrated. I am keen to promote LGBTQ+ weddings and civil partnerships.

A COMMITMENT CEREMONY with your Wedding Celebrant Mark Inscoe

As a couple, you may be happy with a ceremony which is not legally biding – a ceremony to declare your promises of commitment to one another, either privately or a declaration witnessed by your family and/or friends. The content of this ceremony can be as simple or as elaborate as you choose. In fact, it can closely mirror a wedding celebration ceremony.

One of the most important parts of any couples ceremony is the moment they declare their vows to each other – sincere promises of love and tolerance and care throughout their union. Some couples choose to mark special wedding anniversaries with a ceremony to renew their vows to one another. They serve as a reminder of the vows made when they first ‘tied the knot’. A new beginning or just a boost to emphasise the true love which they share.

A very intimate ‘Renewal of Vows’ ceremony to celebrate 15th wedding anniversary of S & J on the 25th September 2024. They had both been married before, and this classic song could’ve been written for them! Myself, Mark Inscoe – civilcelebrantsussex – utilised my singing skills to close their ceremony with a song! ‘The Second Time Around’ (by Cahn/Van Heusen) ;

Our first meeting

I will arrange an initial meeting with you for a couple of hours to discuss your wishes and learn your story so I can begin to compose your ceremony script. You will undoubtedly have music, poetry and readings in mind, but I can help with suggestions if you need guidance. If required, we can arrange a second meeting, perhaps at your chosen venue, or maybe a rehearsal.

As a Civil Celebrant in England, I have the flexibility to make your ceremony anything you want it to be –

• Non-religious
• Some religious content if you choose
• Introducing cultural elements to reflect your lifestyles, family or racial traditions
• Themed ceremonies which reflect your interests, hobbies or passions
• At your chosen location – An historic venue, a favourite landmark, on a beach, a boat or ship, on a mountainside or just at your home! *(a celebrant-led ceremony is non-statutory, so you don’t need a licenced venue.)
